Book I would recommend: Son of the Revolution by Liang Heng and Judith Shapiro.

I read this book for a class in undergrad and I felt like this book opened my eyes in a very realistic way. Specifically, it opened my eyes to the ways other people lived their lives in other countries and the struggles that they may face.

Favorite Quote: “You think you have to want more than you need, until you have it all you won’t be free” -Eddie Vedder.

These are lyrics from a song, I like this line particularly because to me it seems to highlight how important it is to focus on what’s inside us and the people we love rather than materials.

What would people be surprised to know about you? 

I like exercising and working out more than someone might expect. At one point I was even licensed to be a personal trainer.

Name a cause you are passionate about.

Why did you choose MSP?

Mental health has been very important to me since high school, and I really value the importance MSP places on humanistic psychology. Particularly because I feel like it treats people in a way that can help them feel better about themselves and getting the help they need.

What do you want to do with your degree?

I want to practice as a therapist for a few years to gain some experience and one day I would like to open my own practice. Ultimately, I would like to help young adults and adults. A few topics that interest me are Anxiety and PTSD.

What is your plan after graduation?

I will finish my license then practice for a few years. I do, however, have thoughts about going back for a higher degree.
